I'm almost certain that no one is reading this blog now, except for me when I proofread it, which means I can write whatever I want, including my opinion on a current, politically-charged topic. Universal Health Care, um.. excuse me...National Health Care Reform scares the crap out of me. This is why I did not vote for Obama. This is why I did not vote for a single democrat. I think the government sees into enough areas of my life. I don't want them in my hospital room and I don't want them counseling my parents and grandparents to consider the long life they've lived if/when they get diagnosed with a life-threatening ailment. That's tantamount to assisted suicide and it's wrong. Why do people from countries with a government-run health care program come to our nation when they're sick? Why should congress and all the law-makers on Capitol Hill be exempt from this new health care program? If it's good enough for us lowly tax payers, then it's damn well good enough for them. Besides, if some scumbag politician doesn't want to be on this health plan, then neither do I. Why does a rat desert a ship...?
Anyway, what have I been doing? I've gone home for the past two weekends to help my parents with the kitchen, and I must say it's coming along nicely. We got the sheet rock up the first layer of mud up the weekend before last, and then we sanded, primed, and painted this past weekend. And I'm still sore. Other than that, nothing's new.
