Yes, I did have a good weekend. I woke up (was woken up) just after ten, and then I cut the grass for several hours. And then, we got ready for Dad's birthday celebration, which was a simple afair. Dad grilled some steaks, Mom made a homemade carrot-apple cake, and we kids did the decorations. Dad loved all of his gifts, but I think he really liked the one that came in a Victoria's Secret bag and mine, a T-shirt
that read "If I gave a crap, you'd be the first person that I'd give it to." After that, we just sat around and talked, and then we all retired.
In other news, my baby Scrappy is doing so much better! It turns out that she didn't have mange - she had a secondary staff infection caused by an allergy to fleas, of all things! So now she's on antibiotics and k-9 advantix. The vet also gave her a vitamin shot to perk her up. Scrappy's been very depressed lately, ever since Bonnie passed away, and I think that caused a decline in her immune system and thus the flea-caused infection got out of hand. She couldn't stop scratching, biting, and tearing at her own skin, she gave off a foul odor from the infection, and she didn't get pet alot because of that odor. (Let me get on my soap box really quick:
I always pet her - I didn't care that she stank, and then that I would stink, I knew she needed affection and attention and I was always more than happy to give it to her - she's my baby!). But now she's so happy and calm and she smells exactly like she did when she was a puppy. They smell is the ultimate key to memory recollection, and they are correct! I am so happy that she's better!
That's all for now. What do you think about the new background? And Callie won the candy bar prize for supplying the answer to the final quote: The Sharpe Series.
