Is Racism over? Now that we have elected a black - excuse me - half-black man (you never do hear about the white side of his family, do you?) to be our next president, is America officially colorblind? Time will tell. I can say that yesterday I stood in line and proudly cast my vote for John McCaine and Sarah Palin, and did my duty to ensure that the great state of South Carolina at least remained red. My family in North Carolina tried to do the same for their state, but other states decided to see how they looked in blue yesterday. I can imagine Ricky Ricardo saying, "Virginia, Ohio, you got some s'plainin' to do!" But, the majority has spoken. The Majority elected Barack Obama president, and there's nothing I can or will do about it. I will gripe now, and say that no power on earth could have induced me to vote for a man I hold to be no more than a pontificating socialist, but come inauguration day, I will support President Obama. I can only hope that in the next four years he accomplishes enough good to convince me that I should have voted for him yesterday. As it stands, I think today is a very sad, very blue day.
